Is John Kerry retarded?

Senator John (I’m Ted Kennedy’s protégé because he’ll never be President) Kerry penned this opinion piece in the New York Times- a good thing to because there are bird cages everywhere needing a fresh liner.

Kerry’s piece talks about how we should stand on the sidelines and watch as the Iranians begin their revolt.  His fear is that we would be seen as meddling, and would incite the Muslim masses.  Ergo ( little Latin lingo in honor of Kerry’s European love affair), we should, for the lack of a better term, tuck tail and run.  Now I am not trying to denigrate those among us who suffer handicaps by terming Kerry “retarded.”  On the contrary, the type of retardation Kerry suffers isn’t from a birth defect or injury, it is caused from years of having his head stuck up his…well, you know, causing a reduction in a fresh air supply which led to brain damage.  A lot of liberals suffer this ailment, luckily most aren’t Senators.

Does Kerry have a point?  In the world of moral equivalence perhaps, but it was pointed out by critics the liberals have no problem voicing an opinion about what the Israeli government should do yet feel as though they are intruding when dealing with totalitarian regimes.  (Again, another supporting leg for my theory that Kerry is ‘tarded.)   During the elections of 2004, I did my best to follow Kerry’s tortured logic as he nuanced himself around every hard decision.  All I ended up with was a headache and concrete belief we should never let him near the White House.

Does standing on the sidelines make the dictators happy?  Apparently not.

Like we didn’t see that coming, well those of us who are not suffering from hypoxia saw it coming.  The rest get to write op-eds for the New York Times.  (On a side note, why haven’t they gone under yet? I’ve been waiting with baited breath on the shoreline hoping to see the last bubbles come to the surface.  Come on, let’s speed this up, will ya’? Oprah’s on at four!)  The point is this.  We, as a nation, have always stood on the side of the good guys, or at least tried.  Have we meddled?  Yes, but that doesn’t mean that we stop trying to do the right thing.  The problem with liberals is they can’t quite figure out what the right thing is, or who the good guys are.  That leaves them all tied up in knots, lying inert on the ground, mumbling incoherently to themselves, “Well, on one hand there is this but on the other there is that… Oh my, oh my, decisions, decisions…”
