Of course they were wrong.  That is what happens when men think they are smarter than nature.  It also happens when men think they are smarter than markets, human nature and their fellow citizens.  Of course, Al Gore and many others have made millions off the hoax, but why quibble.  The fact that entire markets collapsed is no big deal, or people were killed in auto accidents that would have survived if they were in a bigger car, hey a few broken eggs.  It is all for the good of the planet, right?

The real crime here is that there are many areas we do have to be better stewards, like managing waste that goes into the oceans, and fisheries, and land use.  I’m not saying legislate it, but you can change people’s ways by persuasion not force.  There has been a lot of energy wasted over this fraud and I wish somebody would lose their jobs or go to jail (again Al Gore comes to mind).  But that isn’t going to happen.  Now we have to totally reset our way of thinking and I hope don’t swing too far to the other side.  We do need to balance the desires of mankind against the damages caused to the earth.  We just have to remember, we don’t run her, and frankly we are at her mercy.

I have never believed in global warming. I remember as a child thst it is cooler now than in the 50s and early 60s. There is always someone trying to claim the sky is falling. I’ve talked to an oil executive prior to the gas shortage in the early 70s. The deal was no Alaska pipeline no gas. We’ll just see how much people are willing to pay for gas. It’s all BS
