The military has always been one of the first places politicians use for social experiments and agendas. First they insisted that women take more active roles in the military. Then the obvious problem (obvious to anyone with an ounce of sense anyway) pops up. There is a rise in women getting pregnant. Unfortunately, some of those women are now holding key positions, so not only does the military lose a person, they lose a key person. For years the military has been struggling to be politically correct and gender neutral while at the same time getting their primary goal accomplished, which is to kill people and break things.
To say it works at any level is a hat tip to the men and women in the forces who simply push past or through the silly political agendas foisted upon them by the politicians. Now here we have the newest new idea, the morning after pill. This is typical for the left. They are having problems pushing this upon the citizenry, so they dump it on the military because it can’t say no. Several years of this and the process will be “studied” and found to be a success, along the lines of climate change and deficit spending.
On the other hand, if you can stomach the whole abortion issue, the pill will provide women the opportunity to prevent pregnancies if they decide to have sex. This will, of course, raise the incidents of sex between soldiers because they will feel they have a free option available to them. (This seems to always happen. Human nature.) Here’s the interesting part. What if the military embraces this and makes it a mandatory procedure, like the old days when the soldiers had to line up and be checked for clap. You have sex, you must go to the clinic and get the pill. Failure to do so which results in a pregnancy can be considered a dereliction of duty since the pregnacy will reduce the effectiveness of the unit.
Just saying..
