This is a good post. The question comes down to do the political leaders of either party have the will and strength to tell us the bad news and be willing to take the penalty that will come with it. We are a spoiled nation, full of welfare recipients, free program users, and people who think they have a “right” to a free ride. (What was it that the Obama supporter said? “I don’t have to pay my mortgage or my gas anymore.” )
I fear the coming civil war when the checks quit coming, as do many professional politicians. They promised everything in order to remain in power. Now that “everything” is coming due and they are retiring and leaving town. The mess is someone else’s to clean up.
Shame on them. I hope their time retired is as unpleasant as our lives are destined to become.
