Seriously, if the Obama administration wants a shooting war, this will do it. Ranchers have been grazing on public land for years. However, they have been suffering more and more restrictions as eco-friendly bureaucrats and lefties harp about the damage their animals do to the environment. I agree we must be good stewards of the land and shouldn’t abuse it. But at the same time, we are on top of the food chain for a reason. We get to graze cattle to sell so people in New York’s upper east side can have their Filet Mignon. You can’t have a cattle free world and expect to eat steak. In my book the plot centers around a community that refuses to submit to any more federal intrusion. Their resistance leads to them being isolated, called extremists by the President and attacked by violent forces. The President’s character is a narcissist who believes he is destined to rule the nation.
Like I said before, back in 1997 people thought it could never happen here. They laughed.
They aren’t laughing now.
