A woman survives being thrown onto the tracks during a vicious attack in the SEPTA subway.
We want to warn you that the video above may be difficult to watch.
The attacker and the woman were alone at the SEPTA subway station at 8th and Race in Chinatown on Tuesday afternoon. He asked to borrow a light for his cigarette. Then, without warning, he attacks her, drags her onto the landing and throws her down onto the tracks.
SEPTA Chief of Police Thomas Nestel tells NBC10 the woman, 23, was very fortunate she walked away with only bumps, bruises and some cuts.
“It’s horrifying. And when you see that happen, you think the worst. We all know that there is a tremendous electric source. You touch that, you die,” Nestel said.
Why then, didn’t SEPTA get the attack video and the man’s description out to the public as soon as possible?
Nestel says he made the call not to go public because the attacker had a very distinct jacket on and he was confident that was their best lead.
He admits it was risky, but “it’s also risky to put that information out. He gets rid of that coat and I lose my best chance to get a dangerous man off the streets.”
MIDDLETOWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Police are investigating after a woman was attacked and stabbed multiple times inside a New Jersey store Thursday afternoon.
The victim, identified by her family as 29-year-old Kerri Dalton of Keansburg, also had a baby with her inside the Middletown Bed Bath & Beyond store, when the attack occurred.
The alleged assailant, 19-year-old Tyrik Haynes, is accused of repeatedly plunging a knife into Dalton around 4 p.m., puncturing both her lungs in an apparent random attack.
A published report indicated that Haynes is being held on $1 million bail on an attempted murder charge.
Dalton was stabbed more than a dozen times and Medevaced to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where she remained in stable condition late Thursday night.
The baby was unhurt and was with family, Young reported.
The manager of the Staples store next door to the scene said she saw the assailant moments before the attack lurking about on the sidewalk.
Here is some more detail on the stabber.
MIDDLETOWN — A Middletown man stabbed a Keansburg woman a dozen times at a Bed Bath & Beyond store on Route 35, according to the complaint signed against him.
Authorities say the suspect is a man who is charged with torturing a cat to its death in late December.
The victim is reported by CBSNew York 2 to be Kerri Dalton, 29. The website cited her family as its source. She was in critical, but stable condition, in an area hospital, authorities said.
The accused attacker, Tyrik S. Haynes, 18, of Middletown, was placed in custody after township police responded about 4:10 p.m. to multiple 911 calls at the store located at 1515 Route 35 North in the township, said Charles Webster, public information officer for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Haynes was charged with first degree attempted murder and various weapon offenses, Webster said. He is being held at the Monmouth County Jail in Freehold Township in lieu of $1 million bail as set by state Superior Court Judge Thomas F. Scully.
Here is question I’ll ask about women victims of violent crime. Is the Left so set in its ideology, much like pro-abortion, that women being brutally attacked are acceptable sacrifices like unborn babies??
Is the Left going to talk about how if they were armed, or someone around them was armed, they could have survived the attacks by suspects who are now being referred as insane criminals? By the way, the stabber in New Jersey sounds like the classic psychopath early in his career. I’ve seen this behavior before. In fact, several times before. I’m sure the police will find he did ever increasing perverse acts, played violent games, fantasized about sex and violence, burnt animals, and scared the crap out of his friends and family. He will continue to do these acts if he is free. Since the left has no problem just “keeping them on their meds” as a solution, he’ll get out and will kill.
And in New Jersey, New York and other leftie states when he stalks a victim and breaks into the house in the dead of night to do his dirty work, there is a very, VERY good chance the occupants won’t be able to defend themselves…and he’ll know that.
