At some point we are going to have to prescribe pills for the crew over at CNN and the general media population. They are as nuts as anyone we’ve see in a while and Mueller didn’t help.
A federal grand jury on Friday indicted 13 Russians and three Russian companies for allegedly interfering in the 2016 presidential election, in a case brought by Special Counsel Robert Mueller that detailed a sophisticated plot to wage “information warfare” against the U.S.
The Russian nationals are accused of setting a “strategic goal to sow discord in the U.S. political system, including the 2016 presidential election.”
The indictment – the first filed against Russian nationals as part of Mueller’s probe – effectively returns focus to the meddling activities out of Russia in the run-up to the 2016 election, following a string of charges relating to the actions of Trump associates.
Further, the DOJ made clear that the indictment does not allege that any of the interference changed the outcome of the presidential race.
“There is no allegation in this indictment that any American was a knowing participant in this illegal activity. There is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the outcome of the 2016 election,” Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who oversees the special counsel probe, said at a Friday press conference.
President Trump reacted to the indictments by seizing on Rosenstein’s comment that the election results were not impacted by the Russians’ activity.
“Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President,” Trump tweeted. “The results of the election were not impacted. The Trump campaign did nothing wrong – no collusion!”
The 37-page indictment, signed by Mueller, said the actions detailed by prosecutors date back to 2014.
The defendants are accused of spreading derogatory information about Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, denigrating Republican candidates Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio — and ultimately supporting Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders and then-Republican candidate Donald Trump.
But when Trump was elected, the same crew pivoted and went after him using elements like the BLM movement in America.
So what was the goal? To sow dissension between the parties and the people. Did it work? With the help of the Democrats and the media- yes it did.
Yet, the real goal here – by elements with our OWN government – was to create an investigation that would politically tie up Trump, if not give Congress grounds for his impeachment and or flip Congress to the Democrats.
If Mueller didn’t know that he’s an idiot. Why? Because the whole “Russians did it” was a meme created by the DNC and pushed out further after Hillary lost as an excuse as to why she lost. How do we know that? People in the meeting John Podesta held with the campaign staff heard the plan. It..is..public…knowledge..! Not that a person would learn that listening to CNN.
We also know now that Strzok and Page were talking about an “insurance plan” in the office of Andrew McCabe. This is that plan. What went wrong was the IG investigation dug into the bad acts by the Obama DOJ/FBI and caught up with them before they could get to Trump. Sally Yates, yes that Yates, did her best to cover up the effort by denying the IG access to the division where the “small group” operated. So, yes, she knew too.
So why is Mueller, or more likely, Atty Weinstein, going after Manafort and Flynn? As we talked about earlier, it’s about both of them bucking the system. Along with Carter Page, they were a threat to get Trump to rethink Russian relationships and maybe, just maybe, not treat Russia as a threat but as a competitor. That would screw up NATO, military contractors, the EU and all the bureaucrats who planned to make a career wandering around the bureaucracy doing nothing in particular and taking your money while doing it. Evelyn Farkas is a perfect example of this permanent administrative critter.
However, here’s the problem with what Mueller did. One- he has no right. Andy McCarthy and a dozen other legal experts still cannot explain why Mueller was appointed. There is no crime, so no special prosecutor. Two- Comey and the deep state maneuvered Mueller into place and soon he and Weinstein set out to remove from Trump’s sphere any voices that might tell him something different than say McMasters and McCain might believe. That is not their right. Three- the duo used compromised evidence and corrupt investigators to “find” crimes against Flynn and maybe Manafort. Manafort is not a good guy and I don’t care about him. Flynn served his nation for decades. No one says he was anything but a stellar officer. Yet suddenly, when involved with the Trump campaign and after he bucked the Obama’s foreign policy positions in the Middle East, he’s a bad guy and leaks upon leaks (from Strzok I’m sure) demonized him. By the way, it turned out Flynn was right and Obama was wrong and Obama (and his buddies) didn’t like that one bit.
All that will come out in the wash. Hopefully. My buddy thinks Strzok and Page and Ohr are cooperating. He has seen this type of investigation before and said usually when the targets are sat down, not fired or suspended, and no information is coming out on them, it means they are cooperating.
He put it this way, and I will paraphrase here; What happens is the target is approached by the IG. The target is told basically to shut up, sit down and get a lawyer. Then the IG shows the lawyer just how screwed his client is. At that point, the IG hands the lawyer a letter of cooperation and says to the target if you cooperate you will be given a break. However, you will not talk to anyone, not leak anything, and just sit there. When we need more information we will call you and you will respond, then you will go back and sit there. If you violate this agreement you will face the full penalty for your crimes.
He thinks that is why we are not hearing from about five defendants- Ohr and his wife, Strzok, Page and Priestap. There may be others, but those five stand out. Carlin left right after all this started. Others have fled since. The one who lost his mind was McCabe after a meeting with Wray. So, he’s in trouble and he knows it.
I would think if there is a rule of law that encompasses federal appointees then there will be others that are in trouble. Maybe Yates, Comey, Blumenthal, Simpson, Steele and Shearer, and a few in the State Department.
In any event, CNN should be put on suicide watch. Sure, they’ll spin it, but it’s over. Trump should not meet with Mueller. Mueller, if he’s smart will wind this down. And if he’s a real straight shooter spin up the HRC/DNC/Russian real collusion investigation.
Don’t hold your breath. He looks like a guy heading for an exit, with his reputation and law license intact.
