Below are two articles I read, there are some more on Drudge reflecting the same situation, that help you understand the folly of the left’s theory of economics. Basically, anything that gives them more power and takes free will away from you is a good idea. Their favorite economic theory, of course, is Keynesian economics. Why? Simple. It can’t work, but allows for government to sell itself as the answer to a problem it cannot solve, allowing it to take center stage. The fact that the theory has never worked in real life does not stop the left from promoting every time there is a economic crisis.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/08/keynes_as_useful_idiot.html

The mother’s milk of American politics may be money, but the fuel for American socialism is Keynesian economics. Keynesianism’s inherent bias toward bigger government has made it the indispensable tool for statists around the globe.

Politicians’ natural wont to spend and control benefited immensely when John Maynard Keynes published The General Theory in 1936. His work initially provided a rationale for the ad hoc efforts to fight the Great Depression. Subsequently, it provided support for growth in government.

Like Dom Deluise in the movie “THE END” with Burt Reynolds, the left is a character that is dead set on killing off the hero, regardless of how crazy, outlandish or self-damaging the effort might be. You would think with all the opportunities to see if the theory worked over the last sixty or so years, we’d be either saying, “Hey great idea!” or “Shoot, let’s put this down before we hurt someone else!”

But the economic crisis is and was never about right or wrong, good economics or helping the citizens of America. It is about gaining power. Not every country has leaders dead set on crippling their own nation. Germany learned quickly and pealed away from the effort early on. This has lead to a 7.6% unemployment.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5hpC20s4vZTTZQwJRzslwIdKy6Uug

FRANKFURT - The German unemployment rate was stable in August at 7.6 percent of the workforce, official figures showed on Tuesday as the number of people seeking work edged slightly lower to 3.188 million people.

“The clear rebound of the German economy continues to translate positively onto the jobs market,” a labour agency statement said.

The fall from an unadjusted figure of 3.192 million, the figure used as a public reference, meant the jobless rate was unchanged from July as Europe’s biggest economy powers out of its worst post-war recession.

The adjusted rate used by economists was also 7.6 percent in August, but the corresponding number of unemployed declined by 17,000 people, the federal labour office said.

That was slightly below a forecast decline of 20,000 compiled by Dow Jones Newswires, but nonetheless showed continued improvement as firms rehire to meet stronger foreign and domestic demand.

It was the 14th monthly decline in a row and left the unemployment rate at close to a two-year low point, Capital Economics senior European economist Jennifer McKeown noted.

“While unemployment is still rising elsewhere in the euro-zone, the German labour market has been particularly resilient, thanks initially to the Government?s ‘Kurzarbeit’ subsidy scheme, but perhaps now reflecting the underlying economic recovery,” McKeown said.

Remember when the German government split from Obama’s continued stimulus package talk? They figured out that getting away from government meddling (beyond the meddling Germany’s government already does) was the best way out. Stabilize and retreat. Obama and his people want to control every aspect of our lives and will use the economic panic to do so. I hope most Americans are now aware of the scam that is the left’s plan. We need to crush them in November and do our level best to unscrew the goat. We’ll never be free of this weight that is crippling our way of life until we free ourselves of the left’s greedy agenda.

As much as my book talks about how things might happen, I wish for a peaceful solution to Obama and his madness.

I like Glenn Beck, tears and all. Yes, he thinks he is on par with certain historical figures, and he well might be. Time will tell. But more importantly, he has focus a laser-like light onto so many falsehoods in our society. That drives the left crazy. Beck spent a dozen shows proving that the history pushed on us from Wilson on down was wrong. That is great work. He forced millions to reexamine what was supposed to be truth.

This weekend he went one step further and showed a way forward the left cannot fight. A road of peace with strength. Obama and the other self-serving narcissists will have a hard time fighting the message. It is one of forgiveness, peace and following what you know is true. Overall, the funniest line of all of this was when Beck related the conversation he had with the leaders of the established religious organizations in America. Many of them are content to make their money, tend their flock and not rock the boat. Beck said one stood up and said, “All of us here and we had to shown the way by a man who is a Mormon and a former alcoholic.”

I wish him good luck and God speed.

http://spectator.org/archives/2010/08/18/the-obamacare-disaster

The link to the article above is a must read. Obamacare is a dangerous, dangerous disaster that will cripple our system of healthcare for generations. It really is that simple. You could compare this nightmare to GM rolling out their newest car and finding out it is designed with square tires. A simple no go from the start.

The bottom line is that you will lose your health care under this legislation, if not your job, your country as they bankrupt America, and maybe ultimately your life or the life of a loved one. All that to make dreamy, emotionalized, liberals happy, even though many of them are not happy because the socialism in the bill is not overt enough. Moreover, the promises made to the American people to pass the bill are shown in the study to be thoroughly false. This pattern of calculated deception, however, did not fool the American people, only members of Congress, many of whom will now pay with their jobs as a result.

The above is one of the opening paragraphs of the article. It goes downhill after that.

Obama is going to a one term president, unless he pulls off a Chicago type election theft in 2012. He knows that, Biden knows that, Nancy knows that and George Soros knows that. He’ll be wildly rich and famous by 2013- not bad for a big-eared goof that was abandoned by both his father and mother and raised by committed communists.

That said, I could give a shit about what happens to Obama ten seconds after he leaves the White House. He was a straw mam all along. He had his personal agenda, but the big movers and shakers were the men behind him who wanted to cripple and bring America down to its knees. That group pushed Gore, then Kerry and finally made it over the top with Barack. It is what it is and sadly, in this one battle, they won. It will take years to unscrew this mess if we even can unscrew it.

It’s been a bad year.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/mexico-bleeding-to-death-in-the-war-on-drugs-2062251.html

The shootout left four people dead, but that was just the beginning. As dust began to settle on a ranch in north-eastern Mexico, thought to have been owned by one of the world’s most powerful drug cartels, the battle-hardened Marines stumbled upon their first decomposing corpse.

Minutes later, they found a second, then a third. By the time troops had finished searching the remote property, roughly 90 miles from the US border, a total of 72 contorted bodies had been laid out in rows beneath the summer sunshine. The 54 men and 18 women had all been recently murdered.

A lone wounded survivor, who was left for dead but later stumbled upon a military checkpoint, told local newspapers yesterday that he and the victims were illegal migrants from Central America trying to make their way to the US. They had been taken hostage by the Zetas, a gang of drug-runners who have recently taken to kidnapping and human trafficking. The Ecuadorian man said his group was taken to a ranch by gunmen and shot after they refused to pay ransoms.

It is well known the “Zetas” are a product of our training certain elements inside Mexico. At one time their core group were the Mexican version of the Special Forces and our people trained their people in the art of war. Then they were corrupted by the Mexican drug lords and became high dollar security forces. At some point, they realized they could get all the cash if they took over. In addition, the Cuban organized crime element is also battling for their piece of the drug trade.

Truth is, how we got here doesn’t matter, the fact we are here is what is important. It is a sad statement that our addiction to drugs and our inability to secure our border, a job that belongs to the feds but is being foisted upon the locals because of the lack of will by either the Republicans or the Democrats, are some of the reasons why so many Mexicans are dead. The “Zetas” are a very good, very well trained, very well armed group. If they want to come across the border the local law enforcement will not be able to stop them and I wouldn’t blame them for getting out of the way. Getting killed by a former Mexican SF guy over a kilo of cocaine is foolish. This is a big picture fight. We’ve got to get past the thought that drugs aren’t dangerous to a society. They are obviously very dangerous because of the cash the drugs can generate. No, don’t go down the legalizing of drugs will stop the violence rabbit hole. That is a fool’s dream. The violence would continue because the growing, distribution, sales and income will still be there even if little Johnny crackhead can buy the end product at the local 7-11.

I wish, at least for a second, the politics of this would be put aside. Yes, I get the fact the Democrats see illegals a potential voters as do the Republicans. It is a crying shame. But the fact remains this violence is going to spill over. Drug lords don’t give a crap about borders. They are only minding their manners, so to speak, because they get CNN too. They understand their best friends are in the White House and in the form of people like John McCain and Lindsey Graham. I feel for the guys wearing badges on the border and wish them all safety and good health. I wish I could say the likes of Obama, McCain and Graham felt the same way.

For years the federal government has tried different angles in the ongoing effort to disarm Americans. The anti-gunners know they can’t get to the guns, but they figure they can get to the bullets. A gun without the rounds that go with it is a three pound paperweight. I’m a big hunter and I’ve noticed the huge increase in bullet costs. Some bullets are several dollars a piece. Still we can get average ammunition at a reasonable price. Last year they tried to limit our ability to have access to fired brass from the military. The government had to back down after a great uproar. I guess the next thing is this.

The National Rifle Association, already on high alert over gun control rumors, has gone to battle stations to fight a new scheme before the Environmental Protection Agency to restrict hunters and anglers from using lead bullets, shot and sinkers.

Chief NRA lobbyist Chris Cox charges in a letter to the EPA that the effort amounts to “a vehicle to implement gun control” and could end hunting by most who can’t afford the higher priced alternatives to lead.

[See who in Congress gets the most money from gun rights groups.]

At issue: lead, the most widely used material for making bullets, shot, and sinkers. The Center for Biological Diversity says in a 100-page petition that lead used by outdoorsmen and women can be blamed for causing deaths in some 130 species of birds like eagles. “Lead-based bullets fragment on impact, distributing toxic lead particles widely throughout carcasses, and making it impossible for scavenging animals or humans to avoid ingesting lead along with meat,” says the center, joined on petition by the American Bird Conservancy, the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and two other groups.

The NRA counters that claims lead is causing a horrific toll on wildlife is bogus. The proof, they say, is the population explosion of American Eagles around the nation, including some inside Washington’s beltway.

We know the left uses environmental crisis to advance their agenda, the newest example was the oil spill in the gulf and deep water drilling moratorium. I hope the pressure of millions of hunters and sportsman will push the politicians into keeping the EPA at bay. You want to make gun owners even more paranoid, go after their ability to protect themselves. It is a path the government would be wise to avoid.

Des Moines police are trying to determine what led to a series of attacks outside the Iowa State Fairgrounds over the weekend that included the assault of two police officers.

At least three people were arrested Friday through early Monday morning. Other arrests may occur as officers investigate the incidents, officials said.

There are indications that some of the fights - which appear to involve mostly teenagers and young adults - were racially motivated, police said.

“We don’t know if this was juveniles fighting or a group of kids singling out white citizens leaving the fairgrounds,” Sgt. Lori Lavorato said. “It’s all under investigation, but it’s very possible it has racial overtones.”

Officials announced last week that they were stepping up security outside the fairgrounds after a series of attacks Aug. 14 that included a pair of stabbings. Investigators are still investigating those assaults and victims intend to pursue charges.

Sgt. David Murillo stated in a report on Friday night, “On-duty officers at the fairgrounds advise there was a group of 30 to 40 individuals roaming the fairgrounds openly calling it ‘beat whitey night.’ ”

Jammie Carroll, 36, of Polk City, was seriously injured in the 3000 block of East Grand Avenue Friday night after a group of people beat him up, causing severe injuries to his eyes, cheekbones and nose, Murillo wrote. Carroll is white, and many of the suspects are black, police said.

State Rep. Ako Abdul-Samad, D-Des Moines, who has worked to fight gang-related violence, said he doesn’t have enough information to decide if the fights were racially motivated. He said police comments that race was involved could miss other factors, such as nonracial taunting.

Two things here. First- yes, the DOJ report I read years ago stating that 13% of the population causes 70% of the violent crime in America is true. Second- I am getting tired of having some former black guy who now calls himself “Abdul” or “Mohammad” because he converted telling me that it isn’t their fault. Here is his wiki bio- (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ako_Abdul-Samad) He’s not Arab and he is from here. Chances are he is a convert, one of many black militants that sought out Islam as a vehicle to gain power. And it was allowed to happen with the use of political correctness.

This is dangerous and should be stopped. Just because you are black does not mean you have the right to harm anyone, or defend someone who did harm someone.

It is a sorry state of affairs to say the least. And Iowans voted him in.

How do you shut down free speech? You can shoot it down, imprison it down or tax it down. Do you think that if the courts rule that bloggers can and must pay fees for the right to speak that it won’t be long to EVERY blogger will be hit with exorbitant tax from a left wing city or state in order to shut the blogger’s ability to speak down.

Notice that it is in Philly a city long controlled by the democrats. There may be no ulterior motive beyond a greedy ill run city grabbing at cash, but no action is without some reaction. It’s called unintended consequences.

It looks like cash hungry local governments are getting awfully rapacious these days:

Between her blog and infrequent contributions to ehow.com, over the last few years she says she’s made about $50. To [Marilyn] Bess, her website is a hobby. To the city of Philadelphia, it’s a potential moneymaker, and the city wants its cut.

In May, the city sent Bess a letter demanding that she pay $300, the price of a business privilege license.

“The real kick in the pants is that I don’t even have a full-time job, so for the city to tell me to pony up $300 for a business privilege license, pay wage tax, business privilege tax, net profits tax on a handful of money is outrageous,” Bess says.

It would be one thing if Bess’ website were, well, an actual business, or if the amount of money the city wanted didn’t outpace her earnings six-fold. Sure, the city has its rules; and yes, cash-strapped cities can’t very well ignore potential sources of income. But at the same time, there must be some room for discretion and common sense.

http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2010/08/city_of_cleveland_to_use_high-.html

CLEVELAND, Ohio — It would be a stretch to say that Big Brother will hang out in Clevelanders’ trash cans, but the city plans to sort through curbside trash to make sure residents are recycling — and fine them $100 if they don’t.

The move is part of a high-tech collection system the city will roll out next year with new trash and recycling carts embedded with radio frequency identification chips and bar codes.

The chips will allow city workers to monitor how often residents roll carts to the curb for collection. If a chip show a recyclable cart hasn’t been brought to the curb in weeks, a trash supervisor will sort through the trash for recyclables.

Trash carts containing more than 10 percent recyclable material could lead to a $100 fine, according to Waste Collection Commissioner Ronnie Owens. Recyclables include glass, metal cans, plastic bottles, paper and cardboard.

City Council on Wednesday approved spending $2.5 million on high-tech carts for 25,000 households across the city, expanding a pilot program that began in 2007 with 15,000 households.

I didn’t think commenting on Argentina trying to shut down an Internet provider the government didn’t like was enough. Or that fifty percent of the Obama designed home mortgage bailout, to the tune of seventy billion, has failed. Or that Iran is going nuclear shortly. This is what caught my eye because it it local, it is based on insanity and it shows how government creeps into your world like a cancer.

A few quick points before the my favorite phrase “idiots!” is spoken.

1. Notice how this move is based on prior “feel good” moves the government has taken. The whole recycling mantra has been a bust overall and an expensive method of reclaiming waste. A good idea? Maybe. A bad idea in that it gives government power over your individual choices absolutely! (Much like second hand smoking rules have prevented people from smoking in the open air)

2. All our cities are broke, or so they say, but here is Cleveland, which is one of the more serious fiscal cases, managing to find cash to fund this concept of computer driven garbage trucks that monitor how much trash you DON’T put in your recycling bins. That means someone had to develop the technology (I wonder if they were government funded companies.) and then sell it to the bureaucrats in that city.

3. The theory may be sound, but you know and I know that the execution of the program will fail. Already I see the whole thing falling apart.

“Trash carts containing more than 10 percent recyclable material could lead to a $100 fine,…”

Hmm.. ten percent… is that by volume? Volume of the container? Volume of the trash? Volume of the trash by week, month, quarter? Or is it by weight? Oh baby, give me that ticket! Who weighs it? What is his or her qualifications with that scale?

Right. Good luck on that.

4. But the fact the government feels comfortable climbing into such a nasty personal area as your trash makes you wonder what other things they are willing to do? To say this is madness and a waste of time is obvious. Here is the issue- government that tries to micro-manage your behavior is bad government. Like I said before, we are a race of humans with free will. If you can persuade people to make the right choices then fine, but if you resort to using the power of an intrusive government to force upon people things that YOU think are moral and proper, you are violating the compact between government and its citizens.

Where does it stop? Toilets that monitor how many flushes you make? Water taps in your kitchen that shut off if running more than thirty seconds? How about Beck’s favorite energy monitoring systems? We cannot exist in the world of “1984″ without a serious lobotomy or a revolution. Free will cannot survive or exist peacefully in a world like some in government would chose to create.

There are billboards springing up across the nation with a photo of GWB and a caption that reads “Do you miss me yet?”

The answer is yes. Very much so.

As 145 soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan walked through the double doors in Terminal D at DFW Airport last week for two weeks of R&R, they were greeted not only by their families, but by former president George Bush and his wife Laura.

AFA’s long-time friend, Bert Brady, who helps coordinate the welcome home project to our troops coming home for furlough at Dallas Fort Worth airport sent us an amazing video of President Bush welcoming the troops.

It is refreshing to see how pro-American and patriotic our former Commander-in-Chief is.

GWB was always a class act. His religious beliefs are sincere, as he has held the conviction that it was part of God’s plan he was where he was, when he was. I know people that know him and the humility and grace that both he and Laura present are truly who they are.

Then we get BO and MO. Two yahoos that think getting into the White House was a license to steal. Seriously. Do you not get the impression they are treating their time as the First Couple they it was a stolen car and they were obeying the old adage. “Drive it like you stole it!”

Just saying…
